Weston's First Christmas

Weston wanted nothing to do with Santa.

Our Christmas card photo.
Leaving cookies for Santa and carrots for the reindeer.

Christmas morning!
Weston's favorite Christmas gift. He would stand at it and play until his legs gave out and he fell, then he'd get right back up and play again.

Then later at Grandma's house...more presents!
Thanks grandma!
Grandma Great came from Idaho for Christmas!

Snow Bunnies

The first snow of the year was a doozy. We built a pretty cool snow fort by packing snow in the plastic bin and stacking the huge snow blocks on top of each other.
Weston just lay there like a slug, it was his only defense.

Peyton the Gymnast

Peyton started gymnastics, or as she calls it "gymtastics" She really loved it and did really well.

Thanksgiving

Mason's first grade class put on a Thanksgiving program. They sang a bunch of songs and Mason had a speaking part that he had completely memorized. "Did you know a wild turkey's gobble can be heard up to one mile away? Our next song is called the turkey trot, lets see what you think of our gobble." It was pretty adorable.

Allison, Paul and Eli came for Thanksgiving. This was only the second time in my eight years of being married that I had to cook Thanksgiving dinner. I think it was pretty successful.

Weston's Surgery 11/11/11

Weston had to have a little corrective surgery on his wee-wee. It went really well and Weston was a champ. It was a little stressful and disconcerting to have such a delicate area be operated on. But all went well and he recovered very quickly. Weston will probably be mortified of this post when he is a teenager, sorry buddy!

Halloween

This year for Halloween, Peyton really wanted to be Rapunzel. I really wanted her to be Princess Leia so she would match her brothers. So we compromised and I ended up making two costumes. I made the braid and crown for Rapunzel. For the princess Leia costume I actually sewed the dress (the first thing I have ever sewn) It turned out really well because Jeanne helped me with the collar. I also made the buns out of yarn and made the belt out of metallic cardstock.
Cousin Maela came trick or treating with us. It was her first time and she kept saying "Maela wants candy." It was pretty adorable.

Lowe Family Reunion - Arizona October 2011

The whole Lowe family got together in Phoenix, it was an awesome time.
We did a lot of hiking.

So much hiking, that Weston got pretty tuckered out.

We made pizookies at Aunt Allison's house.

There was a pool with a slide at Aunt Allison's and at the rental house there was a salt water pool. The kids went swimming everyday and Mason even officially learned how to swim with no floaties or noodles. By the end of the week he could swim the entire length of the pool.

We went to a fun park called Jambo, where they had little indoor kiddie rides.

We went to the Phoenix Children's Museum.

They even had little baby areas for Weston to explore.
The best part was getting to spend time with everyone. Great Grandma and Grandpa Lowe came and Aunt Michaele came too. It was really great to spend time with everyone.
